I made sure to check on "alpha luminence", set the color space to "raw", use a file that's already black and white with defined contrast, 32 bit, and even saved it as an. This seems to be happening when I try to use the file as a bump map as well, and I am sure the file is adequate as it works just fine when I use it on a simple object such as a sphere. I am trying to ultimately displace some geometrical objects with a simple "bumpy" like texture, and I am continuously running into issues where the detail does not translate onto the object or it simply inflates. So as I am new to Maya, there might be some obvious things to look out for here but I do believe I am doing alot of things correctly, so I'm not sure what I'm missing. Hi, I'm going to preface this by saying I have read countless forums on the web trying to identify my issue but with no luck so far.
